This new measurement and control method can be used for all current sludge thickening and drainage units (strainer bed, sieve drum, Filterpress, belt press and centrifuge) and works automatically for optimisation of the polymer quantity feeded without a preset nominal value.
In the process the optimised polymer quantity is feeded and maintained.
A fluorescent component is added to the Nalco flocculant in traces during the polymer production process. These fluorescent traces are measured in the filtrate.
